There is a monthly minimum of $37.00 which includes the first 1,000 gallons. You will be billed this whether you use any water or not.
Our meter reader for Jefferson County RWD #9, Mke Davis, will read your meter every month between the 13th and 15th of each month. The billing system will round gallons used to the nearst 1000 gallons; rounding down at 499 gallons and rounding up at 500 gallons.
Water bills are mailed out around the 18th of the month and payments are due the 15th of the next month. Our billing cycle is a month behind so when we send bills out, they are for water usage from the 15th to the 15th of the month prior. Payments received after the 15th incur a $3.00 late charge.
It is the patron's responsibility to keep the meter itself free of debris and also around the meter. We would appreciate you keeping it mowed around the meter during spring and summer months for our meter reader when he is out reading meters. Also, it is important to make sure the meter lid remains on the meter pit at all times, especially in the winter. If a lid is left off in the winter, your meter can freeze causing the lines to bust and for you to be out of water to your house.

New Benefit Unit & Water Service Installation Charges - $4500
Water Meter applications need to be completed and submitted to the office. Please email jeffersonrwd9@gmail.com to initiate an application. The cost of a benefit unit (the right to receive one water meter) does includes the cost of water meter installation. This price excludes boring, rock and debris. If a road bore is required to connect a service, there will be additional costs. There may be extra charges incurred dependent upon difficulty, depth, rock and debris. This is why it is important to check with the water district before purchasing any vacant lots that may not have a meter.
